LessonCorner Lesson Plans for English
  1.   Read a book in a day.
Students are divided into groups within the class. Each group is given a book which as been torn either by chapters or pages, about 20 minutes of reading for each group. The groups are assigned to teach one of the following to the class, and everyone takes notes. The groups are character development, settings, plot, main idea, conclusions. These are included in visuals developed by the students, which can include a poster, collage, game, puppets, a play, or shadow box.

  3.   Vocabulary for Early Learners or Special Ed
I've adapted this vocabulary lesson with Special Education students in secondary for inclusion in the regular classroom. Nevertheless, this lesson can be used for regular students in pre-k and up to grade 2. This lesson can also be used for older students with a very minimal level of competency in English.
