Some stories are fanciful, some sad, some have a lot of truth and other you can barely find any truth at all. Students will create their own legend about a natural feature of the state. The purpose of this lesson is to teach the children about the state of Louisiana. They will know factual information such as the state flag, bird, tree, etc. They will hear about all the different people who came and settled in Louisiana. They will know geographical points in the state and understand what sets Louisiana apart from other states (festivals that are mainly celebrated in Louisiana).
