1.   Universal Needs & Self-Esteem This lesson helps students recognize universal needs. It demonstrates how other people's perceptions of appearance may affect their judgment of others. It includes a United Streaming video.

3.   Trophy Room Have students define what an accomplishment is. Explain that an accomplishment can be anything that someone achieves or finishes, whether he or she wins a race, cleans the house, or finishes his or her homework. Share one of your accomplishments (no matter how small) that you're proud of.

7.   The Use of Puppetry to Increase Self-Worth Through the Windows of Poetry In this paper, I would like to explore ways in which ventriloquism and puppetry can be integrated into a unit for teaching young children about poetry. As a key component to my unit, I would like to emphasize the active participation of children in using puppetry to read and discuss poetry, as well as, writing it.
