...n was conducted with 4 second grade boys who were all low level readers. One was Guided Reading level 16, the others were about 20 or 21. I copied the pages marked in the reader and gave each of the boys a script. I made the lowest reader the troll which was the biggest part. It was a boost for his self-esteem to be with other students instead of by himself since he is the lowest reader. He was also proud to be the lead.
