1.   Black History in America Students learn about the African-American experience through interviews, historical sketches, interactives, and lessons.

2.   The Church Community: The Oldest Black Church, Past and Present James Varick, master and abolitionist from New York led a strong battalion of Christian warriors fighting for ecclesiastical freedom as early as 1796. This group was called the A.M.E. Church of New York. Later Zion was added to the name to avoid confusion with another Black Methodist sect.

3.   Douglass, Booker T. and W.E.B. - A Study of Black Educational Theories My curriculum unit examines some of the educational views and experiences of African-Americans. This study begins with Narrative of the Life of a Slave by Frederick Douglass. It focuses, however, on the famous educational debates between Booker T. Washington and W.E.B. DuBois.
