This is a one day lesson lasting approximately one hour. It is a part of a week long unit on Presidents' Day. Students will construct a patriotic windsock featuring Abraham Lincoln and George Washington.

First grade students will study about George Washington, Abe Lincoln, and Presidents' Day and create a birthday card sharing facts they learned.

Have students celebrate George Washington's on President's Day, February 19th. This is also a good time to teach about the first U.S. flag and the American colonies. Teach students to sing Yankee Doodle Dandy.
