Lesson Plan Description

The Middle Ages- Castles, Knights, and Customs

Primary Learning Objective(s):

Students will communicate for a variety of purposes through different forms of writing using process of reading, writing, listening, and viewing for an expanded audience. Students will complete projects and tasks in an organized and coherent manner.

Additional Learning Objective(s):

Students will develop an awarenessfor the history of this time and will compare and contrast that period with modern times.

Procedures/Activities:

Stories will be read about Robin Hood and King Authur.Skits and poetry will be assigned to describe that period of time. Construction of a 3D castle using cereal boxes.

Materials/Equipment:

Library Books. Costumes for skits. Writing materials. Cereal Boxes, art supplies, and castle template.

Assessment Guidelines:

Students will be assessed using a checklist to keep then on task and see how well they function in a group setting. Poetry and skits will be assessed with a rubric.
