Lesson Plan Description

This lesson will show a method for multiplying two numbers using coloured pallet sticks. It's done using a powerpoint presentation

Primary Learning Objective(s):

How to multiply two digit and three digit numbers and the resulting place values. The students will learn how to represent a two or three digit number using the colored sticks

Additional Learning Objective(s):

How to add a series of numbers with place values up to thousands. Students will know the result of multiplying tens by ones, tens and hundreds, plus multiplying hundreds by ones, tens and hundreds

Procedures/Activities:

A power point presentation showing the procedures and the place value repsenation of each colored stick

Materials/Equipment:

Three set of green red and blue colored sticks, laptop, projector and ppt show(see attachment)

Assessment Guidelines:

Student will then perform a variety of multiplication using two digit by one digit and then two digit by two and three digit numbers in pairs.
