Lesson Plan Description

A fun way to review Poetry Terms and Ideas using a powerpoint version of the television game show Jeopardy. The students enjoy the friendly competition as they identify forms of poetry, literary elements and figurative language.

Primary Learning Objective(s):

The student will be able to identify and give examples of many poetry forms, literary elements and figurative language.

Additional Learning Objective(s):

The students will also practice good listening and speaking skills in this fun and interactive exercise.

Procedures/Activities:

First, you must divide the class into two teams.  Have two seats at the front of the classroom.  Give each student some type of bell or buzzer to ring in when they have their answer. Play just like the game on television.

Materials/Equipment:

You will need a computer and the ability to project the screen on a smart board or televison screen for the class to view for this powerpoint game.
