Journal for Biology 20 Adapted from an accreditation seminar I attended.

To investigate areas of biology that you may not be familiar with

To connect biology to your life and your world

As part of the Bio 20 curriculum, the first unit it meant to establish a rationale for the teaching of biology, create an excitement for the study of biology and set the context in which biology is viewed.

Journal 1

- introduce yourself (hobbies,  family etc.)

- why have you decided to take this class?

- why is it important?

 

Journal # 2

- biology related tv show or movie

- why did this show interest you?

- summarize the program, describing the science in it

 

Journal # 3

- Biology web site appropriate for high school

- summarze the topics and content

-  what makes it good? what does it lack?

 

Journal # 4

- career in biology

- brief job description

- why are you interested in this field?

There are not any formal materials required for this project - access to a library or the internet would be helpful.

You may assess how you like.

I assess Spelling and Grammar, and the Quality of the journal using a short 4 point rubric.
