Lesson Plan Description

Ancient Egypt thrived as a culture because of its organization and The majority of the people accepting their god given roles. Egypt's highly effective cultural organization, premeated througout all levels of Egyptian Society and aspects of thier lives. We will examine social and occupational of all levels of their social structure from the slave to the Phaoraoh.The family and life, of tradesmens working organization, govermental officials, nobles, and priest and how thier roles effected society and heirarchy. Were the Egyptians better off as herdsmens and gathers as opposed to agrarian farmer workers?

Primary Learning Objective(s):

Students should be able to identify and distiguish the various types of early socities and how the Ancient Society of Egypt derived from these earlier nomadic hunter gather socities, pastorial societies, horticulutral societies, on to the agricultrual society. Students should be able to understand how Ancient Egypt becaame a great civilization not only because of military power baseed or rulership but also the social structure and family values.

Additional Learning Objective(s):

  1. Students decide which society they feel had more advantages for a happier family life and why?     
  2. They well desperse into groups of 3-5 to write essay papers on the life structure for the society they have chosen. They must  include the disadvantages also.
  3. They will meet and debate orally about thier choices. reasearch is done from history books and the Internet.

Procedures/Activities:

Students should be able to demonstrate by essays and debatable discussions which type of society had more advantages for familiy life and longvity, and with proof from various time periods including the present to win thier arguments.

 

Materials/Equipment:

Small scale sized models of organic martial may be used for demonstration: as a small replica of a Nile Valley farming plane etc.

the students will colaborate and make a models of each level of family life in Egypt with models dress appropriately, along with model farms,homes palace and pryimids.

Students will be assessed by discussion, essay and planning of the models and execution
